This booklist is not just an ordinary booklist. It was our aim, at Utmost Enterprises, to develop a list that Christian Homeschool parents could present to their children with a clear conscience. We knew that this list would have to follow special guidelines to be appropriate for parents that had as their desire, like ours, to raise their children mighty in the Spirit of the Lord. In order to have books on this list that would meet this standard, we set down the criteria that each book listed would in some way demonstrate how a person, through following the example of the character(s) in the book, could learn to live a Christ-like life. It quickly became apparent that the best fit for this criteria was that of biographies of Christian people. However, through a more painstaking examination, we were able to discover and recall the remainder of the books on the list and present them. We quickly found that the real list is most likely exhaustive and would take a lifetime to put together. Therefore, we worked diligently, for several months, to come up with the current Preferred Book List, so that we could put it out and people could avail of it while we worked to improve it as a continuing process. It is our hope that homeschool parents will suggest other books, as they discover them, that will meet the criteria of the Preferred Book List. May this book list bless each child who uses it.
